System Engineer — Instrument Frequency Detection & App Development

Location: Hong Kong (HKSTP Partner Network) Department: Core AI & Engineering Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for an elite System Engineer to own, scale, and optimize the core audio intelligence pipeline that powers MusPal. You will work closely with our technical leadership team to build out our next-generation proprietary DSP and Transformer architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Pitch Tracking Innovation. Develop and validate the monophonic pitch tracking branch using a CNN-based pitch detector running at a 10 ms step (100 fps), producing per-frame Hz plus confidence. Implement median filtering to seamlessly isolate and remove vibrato fluctuations, validated against a ground-truth intonation dataset.
  2. Polyphonic Scaling. Build the polyphonic pitch path for multi-pitch estimation. Implement instrument-adaptive routing rules (strings, keyboard, winds) and robust audio source separation to extend our capabilities to piano and chordal instruments.
  3. Audio Pre-processing Pipeline. Architect and deploy the end-to-end preprocessing chain, featuring Voice Activity Detection (VAD) head/tail silence trimming, harmonic-preserving spectral-gating denoising (Denoise ≥ 0.7), and MusPal's proprietary 4-stem instrument separation. Quantify intonation-scoring accuracy gains under noisy home-recording conditions.
  4. Smart Alignment & Onset Detection. Engineer the Multi-Level Onset Detection module (smoothed frequency segmentation at ≥ 40 cents, NaN handling for ≥ 100 ms silence, and a < 50 ms merge de-bounce). Optimize our signature Smart Alignment time-mapping matrix to withstand up to a 10× time-warp tolerance, ensuring absolute beginners receive accurate note-level feedback even if they can't follow a fixed rhythm.
  5. On-Device & Mobile Integration. Take full ownership of the end-to-end integration and performance optimization of the detection pipeline into our native mobile applications. Target an end-to-end report generation window of < 6 s and ensure the pre-recording PDC (Pre-recording Dynamic Comparison) runs flawlessly on-device or via optimized microservices.
  6. Next-Gen AI Roadmap. Assist in drafting the technical roadmap for the MuspalDetect Transformer model. This includes building out a 4-branch output head network (onset, pitch, duration, velocity), an audio feature encoder, and an instrument adapter layer backed by our proprietary technique-annotated multi-instrument training dataset.

What You Bring

  • Exceptional background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Audio Machine Learning, or Core Mobile Architecture.
  • Deep experience handling audio feature engineering (CQT, Mel-Spectrograms, VAD) and deep learning models (CNNs, Transformers).
  • Familiarity with building robust pipelines capable of low-latency inference on edge devices or containerized microservices.
  • A passion for music, pitch-tracking telemetry, or acoustic science is a massive plus.

Deep Learning Engineer — Computer Vision & Posture Assessment

We are seeking a Deep Learning Specialist to spearhead the vision branch of MusPal's core multi-modal perception framework. In this role, you will transition our experimental camera tracking algorithms into highly precise, real-time posture scoring engines that correct mistakes before they become bad habits.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Hand Mesh Integration. Implement and fine-tune a customized 22-point hand mesh layout optimized to monitor precise finger placement along instrument fretboards and fingerboards.
  2. Trajectory Telemetry. Design and evaluate right-hand bow trajectory trackers to measure angle, velocity, and consistency for string path validation.
  3. LLM Posture Integration. Build structured pipelines to map visual hand/body coordinates into localized LLM evaluation tokens to feed our proprietary multi-modal intelligent reporting engine.
  4. Optimization & Inference. Profile and distill convolutional visual structures to hit robust on-device inference frame rates, minimizing battery drop on standard mobile hardware.

What You Bring

  • Solid framework familiarity across PyTorch, OpenCV, and structural keypoint frameworks (e.g., MediaPipe or specialized body-pose architectures).

Full-Stack Engineer — Mobile Infrastructure & Low-Latency UI

We are seeking a performance-driven Full-Stack Mobile Engineer to manage the presentation and synchronization layers of the MusPal application. You will turn raw, complex multi-dimensional signal statistics into beautifully intuitive frontend maps that change how students see their music.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Interactive Sheet UI. Maintain and optimize interactive score renderers built using custom layout structures, allowing students to select isolated bars, trigger guide tracks, and loop specific sections.
  2. Real-time Synchronization. Build low-overhead WebSocket pipelines to achieve bidirectional metadata streaming between local record buffers and underlying analysis nodes under a 200 ms latency limit.
  3. Report Systems. Construct rich, dynamic assessment interfaces summarizing complex metrics (pitch variation charts, dynamic profiles, and targeted error flags) for easy parent navigation.
  4. Cross-Platform Delivery. Implement code structures optimizing asset caching, secure recording uploads, and local database synchronization across mobile environments.
